Nick Jr. needed a fresh look and feel to encapsulate the network’s leaning into social and emotion skills, as well as to underscore the lush 3D design of the majority of Nick’s stable of characters. The final direction highlighted each show property’s unique curriculum and beloved characters through 5 second vignettes featuring real kids being true to themselves, playing in their world (as well as a bold and colorful graphic space) interacting with their favorite Nick Jr. characters.

Served as art director over entirety of Kids’ Choice Awards 2015 “We Made It” campaign - included overseeing the following:
• initial pitch phase, written concept and design development for print style guide (also provided designs for pitch phase)
• written deck with proposals for interactivity and social media opportunities
• animated package and custom ID spots for on-air and in-show graphics, this included 2D and 3D design, prop creation, multiple stop motion and video shoots, and compositing
• outside vendors creating digital voting hub and other websites for fan interaction
• art direction for 2 video shoots with host Nick Jonas, and art direction for press photography retouching

Real-life girls team up with Nick Jr.’s bravest, boldest, smartest girl characters to form the most crack team of girl action heroes every assembled in this unstoppable spot produced by Jonas and Co. We shot this spot in one day in beautiful Canyon Creek Ranch out near Valencia, and worked with some really brave little girls who shot all their own stunts! A super fun spot with a necessary message - women (and little girls) are the future.

Provided creative +  art direction for a summer campaign that would celebrate the magic of being a kid in summertime, with a nod to our hit show Shimmer and Shine (about two twin genies who live in a sparkly fantasy land).

In this sweet spot created initially for YouTube, you can watch Nick Jr. host Tia Mowry Hardrict read an exciting tale about how Princess Nella became Nella the Princess Knight! Art direction for this spot included visualizing the set (including the round turning wall) and dreamy forest props that helped bring the "storybook" to life and created a magical environment for Tia to read the story, as well as the accompanying graphics based on traditional fairytale books.

Created a warm and fuzzy world for our reinterpreted puppet characters to inhabit. I concepted the look and feel of the world; oversaw design and illustration of our characters as 2D and a matching holiday world; worked with a stop motion specialist, Julia Rosner, to translate the 2D into stop motion puppets - and then oversaw the production company Houses in Motion who did our 5 day stop motion shoot and subsequence animation of 2D graphics.

One of the newest shows to join Nick Jr’s family, Abby Hatcher is a super fun show centered around Abby, the hotel she lives in with her parents, and her friends the Fuzzlies - whom all have different little quirks that Abby helps them out with. Abby is a Fuzzly Catcher and their best friend. I oversaw the concept and design for this campaign - we pulled inspiration from the beautifully rendered hotel on the show and created a 3D landscape with nooks and crannies for the fuzzlies to pop in and out of.

Nickelodeon's Birthday Club has grown to an uber-popular franchise over its' 3 year span, and needed higher quality branded content to support it. Working in collaboration with the in-house marketing team to facilitate their first professional photo shoot, I provided art direction, and oversaw every aspect of the shoot including the hiring of the prop stylist; multiple food stylists/bakers; photographer; and scouting shoot location.

Baby animals! COMPETING AT SPORTS!! IN ADORABLE COSTUMES!!!! What could be cuter or more snuggly?? Picking up where we left off in summer 2015, we knew we wanted to shoot a sporty competition pitting furry critter against furry critter. As the art director on this piece, I oversaw
• the set design and direction (a stadium over 6 feet tall, complete with flags and interchangeable carpets)
• the direction and design of the graphics package
• the animal costumes
• even the obstacle course design (yes, we had an obstacle course!)
• hiring and collaborating with all vendors
• animal casting

Art directed this adorable stop-motion whose purpose was to feature a new collection of tiny toys…the story we’ve been told is that the birthday party wasn’t that great, and so the little toys got together to make some magic. Check it out!

Each year, Nickelodeon celebrates Earth Day as one of the 4 pillars of the Big Help initiative (Community, Education, Environment, and Health & Wellness). I wanted to experiment with clay and stop motion, so I created set full of Sculpey garbage and plants; and worked with illustrator Jonathan Calugi who provided the 2D eyeballs and animals. Oversaw a 2 day stop motion shoot; the animation process; and gave input on the sound design. 

A digital franchise based on the ever popular vintage kid’s books, I Spy - a ‘fake’ interactive video where kids can try to spot their favorite characters, shout it out when they see them! and are rewarded with a clip. This new franchise was the top performer on the website and app, with replays up 300%.

Prop Stylist + Vendor: Noël Claro, Cherry Apple Collective

Oversaw art direction for a Kids' Choice voting promo spot, whose sole purpose was to manifest what real kids had asked for...the answers were hilarious and we had to give the kids what they wanted. The spot was created for the Nick App, however was so popular it was aired on TV as well. Involved figuring out how to make slime with the 'secret recipe', creating and staging set ups, and a video / stop motion shoot. Helped to drive voting up 15% in the last week before the awards show.

Celebrating what the little ones love about Halloween - dressing up! Used an exquisite corpse device to convey the overarching campaign theme, "Costume Crazy" - this design package was used across the network for a multi-platform Halloween takeover-- on tv, website skins, our interactive alpha buttons, and the Nick Jr. App. Led to wildly successful ratings for the week and day of Halloween episodes, as well as digital hits up for the app and website hubs.

Kids love everything about summer, and we wanted to share their joy and celebrate with them! Worked with illustrator Will Bryant to reinterpret our characters, then used hand-drawing animation techniques to create a dreamy, flowy song and network ID's.

I wanted to make a launch package that would make show creators Jay Howell and Andreas Traif (also of Bob's Burgers) proud. I designed, painted, and built an entire cardboard set - then translated them into style frames that would read clearly on TV. Served as both on-air and digital graphics.
